Install Fire Jambs

1. All Factory Installed Inumescent Seals are for the protection of the jamb only. Any inumescent seals required for the door to be installed must be provided and installed. All McFarland 60 and 90 minute doors have all required seals factory installed and require no additional seals.
   
   
2. Assemble Jamb - Attach head to top of Jamb using 2" - #10 sheet metal screws - place screws 1" from both edges and 3" maximum on center. Pre-drill pilot holes
   Jamb depths - 6-1/8" - 8"             Required 3 screws
                               8-1/8" - 11"         Required 4 screws
                             11-1/8" - 11 3/4"   Required 5 screws
   
   
3. Install jamb in wall - use 2" #10 sheet metal screws. Place Jamb in wall and shim tight. Check for square and plumb before applying screws - screw tight to stud as follows: 2 rows of screws, 1 - 9/16 from each edge, 2" from each en and maximum of 12" on center. IE-A 7' Jamb leg would require 16 screw drill pilot holes at a slight angle to ensure solid attachment to stud. DO NOT FILL screw holes until installation (including Door) is complete and functional.
   
   
4. Install Hinges - Pre-drill all screw holes and screw hinges in tight, using 2" #12 sheet metal screws.
   
   
5. Install lock strike (other than rim panic). Install provided metal dust box in strike hole and screw through back of box to stud. Pre-drill strike screw holes and install strike using 2" #12 sheet metal screws.
   For Rim panic - surface apply using 2" sheet metal screws.
   
   
6. Hang Door - checking for square and plumb - Adjust as necessary.
   
   
7. Apply casing with, minimum 1/2" longer than casing thickness, nails.
   
   
8. Apply any necessary seals.
   
   
9. Fill and sand any exposed screw holes.
